tvN’s “Law and The City” is a drama that follows five associate attorneys—Ahn Ju Hyeong (Lee Jong Suk), Kang Hui Ji (Mun Ka Young), Cho Chang Won (Kang You Seok), Bae Mun Jeong (Ryu Hye Young), and Ha Sang Gi (Im Seong Jae)—as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of their daily lives.
For nearly a decade, Ahn Ju Hyeong has diligently worked under Na Kyung Min (Park Hyung Soo) as an associate attorney without looking for a new job or opening his own practice. Insisting that he finds it easiest to simply do work that’s assigned to him, the unambitious but talented Ahn Ju Hyeong has used his remarkable skill as a lawyer to flawlessly carry out all the tasks that Na Kyung Min throws his way.
However, Ahn Ju Hyeong began to undergo a change of heart when he was reunited with Kang Hui Ji, who aspires to become a lawyer that genuinely cares for her clients. During a consultation with a client, Ahn Ju Hyeong is called outside by Na Kyung Min, and he soon makes it clear that he disagrees with what Na Kyung Min has to say.
As Ahn Ju Hyeong has never refused to carry out any of Na Kyung Min’s orders before, his bold stance in opposing his boss is highly unusual for him. But while Na Kyung Min wants to prioritize a client that pays a higher retainer, Ahn Ju Hyeong believes it’s right to prioritize the client who came first. It remains to be seen how this conflict between Ahn Ju Hyeong’s principles and Na Kyung Min’s focus on company profit will play out—and who the client is that triggered this unprecedented clash between the two lawyers.
