Lee Jin Uk And Jung Chaeyeon’s Upcoming Drama “Beyond The Bar” Unveils Character Relationship Chart

JTBC’s upcoming drama “Beyond the Bar” has released a character relationship chart!

“Beyond the Bar” follows the story of Kang Hyo Min (Jung Chaeyeon), an upstanding and confident yet inexperienced rookie attorney at the law firm Yullim. Under the mentorship of Yoon Seok Hoon (Lee Jin Uk), a cold but exceptionally skilled partner attorney, Hyo Min gradually grows into a true lawyer as she navigates the challenges of the legal world.

The released relationship chart showcases the complex dynamics between the Litigation Team and Corporate Team at Yullim, as well as their ties to external characters. Led by Yoon Seok Hoon, the Litigation Team—which includes Kang Hyo Min, Lee Jin Woo (Lee Hak Joo), and Heo Min Jung (Jeon Hye Bin)—promises dynamic teamwork and passionate energy. Kim Yul Sung (Hong Seo Joon) and Kwon Na Yeon (Kim Yeo Jin), Seok Hoon’s dependable allies, will uphold the firm’s foundation while guiding junior colleagues.

On the other hand, the Corporate Team, led by Go Tae Seop (Park Jung Pyo), the son of Go Seung Chul (Kim Eui Sung), frequently clashes with the Litigation Team, intensifying internal tension within Yullim. In particular, Choi Hee Cheol (Kwon Seung Woo) and Hong Do Yoon (Park Hyung Soo) are at the center of this conflict, foreshadowing a direct confrontation with Yoon Seok Hoon.

The narratives of Kang Hyo Min’s family and friends, who influence her growth, add further depth. Her mother, Choi Eun Hee (Yoon Yoo Sun), a law school professor, and her father, Kang Il Chan (Jo Seung Yeon), a judge, are central figures who shaped her values and beliefs. Meanwhile, her fellow law school graduates—Oh Sang Chul (Pyo Jae Gyeom), Choi Ho Yeon (Lee Joo Yeon), and Ji Guk Hyun (Kim Kang Min)—will realistically portray the struggles of young adults navigating the legal field together.

The bickering chemistry between Hyo Min’s roommates—Han Seol Ah (Kwon Ah Reum) and Lee Ji Eun (Lee Seung Yeon)—who are polar opposites, will add fun to the story.

Additionally, characters such as Seo Yeon Soo (Han Jung Hyun), head of Yullim’s finance team; Jung Ji Woong (Lee Jae Woo), head of the fair trade team; Han Sung Chan (Kang Sang Jun), Hyo Min’s boyfriend and an associate at a rival law firm; and associate lawyer Min So Ra (Lee Da Eun) will further enrich the story.

The production team stated, “Centered on the Litigation Team, the intertwined lives of these characters—each with differing beliefs and values—will resonate with viewers on a realistic level while providing plenty of entertainment. We hope you’ll follow their passionate journey of growth, both inside and outside the courtroom.”

“Beyond the Bar” will premiere on August 2 at 10:40 p.m. KST.
