Director Park Chan Wook’s new film “No Other Choice” has unveiled its first poster and teaser!
“No Other Choice” tells the story of Man Soo (Lee Byung Hun), an office worker who once felt completely satisfied with life—until he’s suddenly laid off. Determined to protect his wife, two children, and the home they worked so hard to buy, he prepares for a personal battle to find a new job.
The first poster grabs attention with its detailed, illustration-style design. It features Man Soo, who is struggling to find a new job, along with his energetic wife, Mi Ri (Son Ye Jin), their two children, Si Won and Ri Won, and their two pet dogs.
Scattered throughout the poster are several other intriguing characters: Seon Chul (Park Hee Soon) with a calm expression, Beom Mo (Lee Sung Min) staring at a piece of paper, A Ra (Yeom Hye Ran) enjoying a picnic, and Si Jo (Cha Seung Won) holding a pair of shoes. Each figure, tucked among blooming crape myrtle trees, hints at a unique backstory, sparking viewers’ curiosity.
Man Soo’s solemn stance in front of the home he’s determined to protect stands in sharp contrast to a joyful memory of him dancing with Mi Ri among falling flower petals. This visual juxtaposition deepens the intrigue surrounding the unpredictable events triggered by his sudden layoff.
The trailer opens with a powerful beat and a striking line from Man Soo: “In the United States, they say getting fired is like ‘wielding the axe.’ Do you know what they say in Korea? ‘You’re getting your neck cut.’” The intense music and sharp dialogue immediately command attention.
The trailer then rapidly cuts through a series of dynamic scenes featuring the film’s diverse characters, making it hard to look away. At the center are Man Soo, who has launched a fight to start over, and his unwavering wife Mi Ri, who remains steady through every challenge. Surrounding them are Seon Chul, a successful manager at a paper company; Beom Mo, an industry veteran in desperate need of a new job; A Ra, an emotionally rich artist; and Si Jo, a seasoned expert with deep roots in the field.
Though brief, the teaser leaves a lasting impression, fueling anticipation for what will unfold between these characters.
