ENA’s upcoming drama “The Defects” has released new stills ahead of its premiere!
In “The Defects,” Yum Jung Ah plays Kim Se Hee, a celebrity doctor who is outwardly respected in the medical field but secretly leads an illegal adoption trafficking ring. Won Jin Ah plays Kim Ah Hyun, a young woman who was returned after being adopted through a broken system, but miraculously survived.
The newly released stills depict a group of children who were “returned” after being adopted but miraculously survived and are now living in hiding. These children include Kim Ah Hyun, Ju An (Ahn Ji Ho), Somi (Lee Naeun), Seok Su (Oh Seung Jun), and the most recently returned child, Choi Si Woo (Kang Ji Yong).
The children’s unusual and gloomy daily lives heighten curiosity about why they are hiding in an abandoned building rather than living in a normal home or going to school.
In one image, Ah Hyun, the group’s leader, is seen staring intently at a phone, lost in thought. Despite being completely cut off from the outside world, her anxious gaze suggests she’s waiting for a call—hinting that something unpredictable will happen in the very first episode.
Other stills show Ah Hyun visibly shaken by Si Woo’s unexpected action, while Ju An, Somi, and Seok Su watch with grim expressions. Si Woo, on the other hand, is captured with tears streaming down his face, adding to the tension. Attention is focused on how the returned children’s fate will change with the arrival of Si Woo, who causes a crisis the moment he joins the group.
“The Defects” is set to premiere on July 21 at 10 p.m. KST.
