The cast of the recently released film “Wall to Wall” joined Elle Korea for a pictorial and interview!
“Wall to Wall” is an unpredictable thriller film that follows the story of Woo Sung (Kang Ha Neul), a young man who succeeded in buying his own home but is plagued by mysterious noises from neighboring floors.
In an interview following the shoot, Kang Ha Neul reflected on why he chose to star in the film, saying, “When I first read the script, I wondered if there was any other work as fast-paced and meticulously crafted as this one. Above all, I related deeply to Woo Sung, from his very first line to his last.”
Yeom Hye Ran, who plays Eun Hwa, shared her thoughts on working with director Kim Tae Joon. “I really liked his previous film “Unlocked” because it was a thriller closely tied to everyday life. Playing Eun Hwa, a character who cleverly exploits the blind spots of Korea’s capitalist system, introduced me to a world I hadn’t known before.”
Seo Hyun Woo, who plays Jin Ho, explained why he was drawn to his role by stating, “If Woo Sung represents today’s youth, then I felt that Jin Ho reflects the director’s perspective toward Woo Sung. He looks at Woo Sung with tenderness and sympathy, while also guiding Woo Sung’s reality throughout the film.”
On the atmosphere during filming, Kang Ha Neul commented, “I lost track of time laughing and joking with my two senior co-stars. In particular, Seo Hyun Woo, who was with me throughout the shoot, was truly an idea bank.” Seo Hyun Woo added, “I appeared on the variety show ‘Whenever Possible‘ with Kang Ha Neul, and he’s such a great conversationalist.”
Yeom Hye Ran noted the challenges of shooting in a confined apartment setting, saying, “Since the setting is an apartment, the filming space was quite limited. Eun Hwa, who lives in the penthouse, had it a bit easier. Kang Ha Neul, Seo Hyun Woo, and all the staff had a tough time [making it happen].”
