ENA’s upcoming drama “The Defects” has shared a new glimpse of its central conflict!
Based on a popular webtoon, “The Defects” is an action thriller about children who have been abandoned by their adoptive parents—and their fight for survival and revenge.
Yum Jung Ah will star as Kim Se Hee, the chairwoman of a major hospital and the head of a charitable foundation, who secretly runs an illegal adoption ring based on the twisted belief that only superior genes deserve to survive. Although she is a respected celebrity in the medical field, her true nature is shockingly sinister.
In newly released stills from the upcoming drama, Kim Se Hee wears a cold and unreadable poker face as she fixes someone with an icy gaze.
Meanwhile, Woo Tae Sik (Choi Young Joon) works for the illegal adoption ring, but secretly risks everything to rescue and protect the abandoned children. In order to save their lives, Woo Tae Sik teaches the children, including Somi (Lee Naeun), how to survive.
Kim Ah Hyun (Won Jin Ah), a girl who was returned after being adopted, becomes the leader of the returned children and guides them in a desperate fight for revenge and survival.
“With its fast-paced plot, powerful premise, and intense conflicts between characters, ‘The Defects’ will draw viewers in from the very first episode,” said the drama’s production team. “Please keep an eye on how the fates of the abandoned children unfold amidst the conflicting emotions of pain and hope.”
To find out why Tae Sik is so concerned for the safety of the children—and why they have no choice but to give up any hope of an ordinary life and hide themselves away—tune in to the premiere of “The Defects” on July 21 at 10 p.m. KST.
