JTBC’s drama “The Nice Guy” has released new stills capturing the fateful reunion between Lee Dong Wook and Lee Sung Kyung.
“The Nice Guy” is a noir drama that follows Park Seok Chul (Lee Dong Wook), the eldest grandson of a third-generation gangster family with an unexpectedly pure heart, and his first love Kang Mi Young (Lee Sung Kyung), a woman who dreams of becoming a singer.
The newly released stills offer a glimpse into Park Seok Chul and Kang Mi Young’s daily lives as they chase their dreams. In one photo, Park Seok Chul is seen attending a creative writing class. His tough appearance seems out of place in the setting, yet his eyes are serious as he reads his poem aloud. Meanwhile, Kang Mi Young is at an audition, pressing each piano key with careful focus.
While living their separate lives, the two end up reuniting by fate. Park Seok Chul visits a hospital to see his younger sister Park Seok Hee (Ryu Hye Young), where he unexpectedly runs into Kang Mi Young. The two immediately recognize each other, their faces lighting up with shy, excited smiles as they gaze in disbelief. Viewers are left wondering how this reunion, built on precious memories from their youth, will change their lives moving forward.
Lee Dong Wook raised anticipation for the drama, saying, “In an era where everything moves and changes so quickly, this drama will have a different rhythm and feel. I hope viewers can take a moment to pause and feel the importance of family while watching.”
Lee Sung Kyung added, “I think viewers will feel nostalgic for the emotions of the past. This drama tells stories of dreams, love, family, and friendship. Everyone, including director Song Hae Sung and the cast of wonderful actors, put their hearts into filming it, so please show it lots of love.”
“The Nice Guy” is set to premiere on July 18 at 8:50 p.m. KST and will air two consecutive episodes every Friday.
