tvN’s upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” has unveiled new posters!
Based on a popular web novel, tvN’s “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama about a french chef who time slips 500 years back into the past and meets the worst tyrant and food connoisseur of the time period. The drama will be helmed by director Jang Tae Yoo of “My Love from the Star,” “Tree With Deep Roots,” “Painter of the Wind,” “Lovers of the Red Sky,” “Knight Flower,” and more.
The newly released poster draws attention with its striking contrast between Yeon Ji Young (Lim YoonA) and Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who meet in the same era after crossing a long span of time. In the bustling center of the royal kitchen, where cooks hurry back and forth between baskets filled with ingredients and jars of seasonings, Yeon Ji Young’s pristine white chef’s uniform stands out as she focuses on cooking with a confident smile, creating a sense of dissonance.
At the bottom of the poster, Lee Heon is seated on a resplendent jade throne. Just as the phrase, “Let’s prepare the finest royal feast that even a tyrant will never forget,” suggests, he sits before a lavish table overflowing with delicacies from land and sea, wearing a look of deep satisfaction. The dishes, which blend Korean and Western cuisines in a mysterious harmony, are sure to whet viewers’ appetites.
Meanwhile, each individual poster offers a closer look at the inner thoughts of Yeon Ji Young and Lee Heon. The line, “I’ve always dreamed of being a three-star chef… but today, I’ve become the tyrant’s chef,” hints at Yeon Ji Young’s feelings as she is suddenly thrust into the royal kitchen of the past.
On the other hand, Lee Heon reveals his tyrannical authority with a chilling threat: “If, even for a single day, the food does not suit my taste, you will be sentenced to death.” This raises anticipation over whether Yeon Ji Young, who has become the tyrant’s chef, will be able to satisfy the extremely picky palate of King Lee Heon, who is hypersensitive to flavor.
