KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “My Girlfriend Is the Man!” has released a new third teaser!
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “My Girlfriend Is the Man!” is a romantic comedy about a college student whose girlfriend unexpectedly transforms into a man.
ASTRO’s Yoon San Ha stars as Park Yoon Jae, an astronomy student who is head over heels for his girlfriend Kim Ji Eun (OH MY GIRL’s Arin). Due to a gene that runs in her family, Kim Ji Eun suddenly turns into a handsome man (played by Yoo Jung Hoo) and begins going by the name Kim Ji Hoon.
The newly released teaser highlights the tangled relationships involving Yoon San Ha, Arin, Yoo Jung Hoo, and Chuu. The clip begins with Park Yoon Jae struggling to comprehend the shocking reality that his girlfriend Kim Ji Eun has transformed into the manly Kim Ji Hoon.
Although Kim Ji Hoon still remembers everything as Kim Ji Eun and recalls how cute Park Yoon Jae used to act around her, Park Yoon Jae confesses, “Honestly, I don’t think things can go back to the way they were before,” leaving Kim Ji Hoon heartbroken.
In an attempt to ease the tension, Kim Ji Hoon suggests, “Until I turn back into a woman… let’s just be friends.” But later, Kim Ji Hoon wakes up screaming in frustration upon realizing that he still hasn’t returned to his original form.
Meanwhile, Kang Min Joo (Chuu), who has always had a crush on Park Yoon Jae, cups his cheek while he’s drunk and flirts, saying, “You are like soft white tofu,” igniting Kim Ji Hoon’s jealousy. Kim Ji Hoon grabs her arm and warns, “Yoon Jae has a girlfriend,” but Kang Min Joo provocatively replies, “Is that a problem?” before boldly hugging Park Yoon Jae in public, leaving Kim Ji Hoon stunned.
The situation becomes even messier when Kim Ji Hoon’s best friend Choi Yoo Ri (Park Ju Won) sees him as a man, blushes, and suddenly confesses, “Let’s date,” leaving Kim Ji Hoon speechless. On top of this, Park Yoon Jae further distances himself by saying, “I need some time.”
The teaser ends with a glimpse of a romantic kiss scene between Park Yoon Jae and Kim Ji Eun, followed by a shocking moment where Park Yoon Jae corners Kim Ji Hoon against a wall and says, “Let’s try it too… the cheat code,” leaving viewers curious about whether Park Yoon Jae will accept Kim Ji Eun even in her male form.
“My Girlfriend Is the Man!” premieres on July 23 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available to watch on Viki.
