The shocking revelation was made in the latest episode of “Crazy Rich Koreans.”
In the July 13 episode of KBS‘s Crazy Rich Koreans, MAMAMOO‘s Hwasa took the viewers on her North American tour, offering a rare and vulnerable glimpse into the physical toll that the concerts are taking on her.

The episode followed Hwasa on her Boston leg of the tour. At first, the K-Pop idol was spotted with a noticeable frown on her face. It was soon revealed that she wasn’t feeling well, and she was worried that she was coming down with a cold.
This was the most threatening moment since the tour began… I felt like I was really about to catch something. I was incredibly worried, mostly about my physical condition and stamina.

Still, she pushed forward. Once she arrived at the venue, Hwasa headed into rehearsal and tried her best to conserve her voice. The situation became even more concerning when she had a pain flare-up in her foot that she had injured before. As show hosts Jun Hyun Moo and Park Se Ri both watched with great concern, Hwasa noted she always grinds through the difficulties.
Jun Hyun Moo: You probably shouldn’t even be doing choreographies like that if your foot hurts.
Hwasa: Probably not. But the dancers are the same. We all grind through it together.
The most shocking revelation came later in the episode. While sharing how it’s hard to hear with the audience going wild, Hwasa revealed that she actually had her in-ear burst in her ear, causing hearing loss.

Hwasa: …When it gets that loud, it triggers my tinnitus, and it keeps damaging my eardrum. But I still crank my in-ear all the way up. At one point, the in-ear monitor literally burst.
KwakTube: Wait, wouldn’t that have damaged your ear?
Hwasa: It did. That’s why I have trouble hearing in my left ear.
Jun Hyun Moo: Did this happen at the Boston concert?!
Hwasa: No. But I always have the in-ear to be at full volume, so my eardrum is damaged. I constantly hear ringing in my ear.
With her unmatched grit and resilience, Hwasa has successfully wrapped up the North American concerts of the “Twits” fancon tour. Picking back up on August 10 with a Bangkok concert, Hwasa will be touring Europe until November 2025.
