A preview of the first episode has been revealed for “BOYS II PLANET”!
The second season of the hit survival show “BOYS PLANET,” which gave rise to the project group ZEROBASEONE, “BOYS II PLANET” is a global K-pop project where fans from around the world help produce and launch a top-tier boy group.
The show was originally intended to air as two separate audition programs—“BOYS II PLANET K” and “BOYS II PLANET C”—with each show debuting its own boy group. However, Mnet later changed the format so that as the competition progresses, the two narratives will eventually converge into one, ultimately leading to the debut of a single boy group instead of two separate groups.
The “BOYS II PLANET K” preview released on July 14 shows the first appearance of Lee Leo and Lee Sang Won, who were previously members of BIGHIT MUSIC’s trainee group Trainee A, as they are welcomed with high anticipation from other contestants. Lee Leo is introduced to have trained for three years and seven months while Lee Sang Won has trained for six.
In an interview with the production team, Lee Sang Won explains that Trainee A’s debut fell through due to various circumstances. Following his departure from BIGHIT, he originally wanted to give up on his dream of becoming an idol and got a part-time job at a cafe as he contemplated his career.
Lee Leo reveals that he contacted Lee Sang Won one day to share that he plans on joining “BOYS II PLANET” and said to him, “Let’s debut together.” With this, Lee Sang Won decided to muster up courage one more time with the hopes of debuting together with Lee Leo.
Following the reveal of their story, the clip gives a glimpse of their level test as they perform ENHYPEN’s “No Doubt” to the enthusiastic responses of the masters and other contestants.
