It’s the first time Joy has introduced her sister to the public.
Red Velvet member Joy has revealed the face of her younger sister to the public for the first time in her career.

While all five members of Red Velvet have siblings and have, at some point, introduced them to the public, Irene and Joy were the only exceptions. Though it was already known that Joy had two younger sisters, Ji Yeong and Min Ji, she had never revealed their faces to protect their privacy.
However, that changed recently, after Joy introduced her youngest sister, Ji Yeong, to the public through the popular entertainment show, I Live Alone.

On July 11, KST, the MBC show aired a preview of its upcoming 604th episode, featuring a sneak peek of Joy’s everyday life. In the clip, the idol met Ji Yeong, whose facial features resembled her older sister so much that it left viewers baffled.

The clip also gave an overview of the close relationship between the two siblings and Joy’s unexpectedly doting “big sister” side. The singer visited her younger sister’s newlywed home, revealing that she had taken care of all the necessary furniture as a wedding gift for her. She brought even more household essentials for her sister during her visit.

Joy and Ji Yeong were then seen spending quality time on a walk, when the idol reflected on the difficulty of her sister handling responsibilities alone, saying, “Since neither of us is even 30 yet, it must be hard to manage a household.”

Ji Yeong then got emotional, thanked Joy for all she had done, and eventually burst into tears. Joy’s eldest-daughter persona shone through when she consoled her sister, saying, “I hope you are happier than I am.”

Fans are excited to see more of this unknown side of Joy and her sweet dynamic with her sister in the upcoming episodes of I Live Alone, which airs every Friday at 11 pm KST.
