SBS’s upcoming comedy sports drama “The Winning Try” has released a new teaser ahead of its premiere!
“The Winning Try” tells the story of Joo Ga Ram (Yoon Kye Sang), a former rugby star who falls from grace due to a doping scandal. After he returns to his alma mater as the new coach of its bottom-ranked high school rugby team, he leads the underdog squad on a quest to win the National Sports Festival.
The newly released teaser opens with the rugby team walking confidently onto the field—only to reveal their dismal record: 25 losses in 26 matches over one season. The team is known not just for its poor performance, but also for its aggressive behavior, earning a reputation as the school’s most incorrigible group.
Then, new coach Joo Ga Ram appears, introducing himself as an idol of the rugby world. Though his fall from grace due to the doping scandal still haunts him, he boldly declares that the team’s goal is to win the National Sports Festival.
As they train for victory, Joo Ga Ram faces numerous challenges, including a clash with team captain Yoon Sung Joon (Kim Yo Han) and emotional turmoil from a breakup with his ex-girlfriend Bae Yi Ji (Im Se Mi). Despite the setbacks, he maintains his quirky, humorous personality, delivering both laughs and heart as he leads the team forward.
