KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “My Girlfriend Is the Man!” has unveiled the first glimpse of Yoo Jung Hoo in character!
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “My Girlfriend Is the Man!” is a romantic comedy about a college student whose girlfriend unexpectedly transforms into a man.
ASTRO’s Yoon San Ha stars as Park Yoon Jae, an astronomy major who is head over heels for his girlfriend Kim Ji Eun (OH MY GIRL’s Arin). Due to a gene that runs in her family, Kim Ji Eun suddenly turns into a handsome man (played by Yoo Jung Hoo) and begins going by the name Kim Ji Hoon.
Yoo Jung Hoo plays Kim Ji Hoon, Kim Ji Eun’s male alter ego. Although Kim Ji Hoon is still Ji Eun on the inside, her sudden transformation into a handsome young man throws her life into chaos. While her feelings for her boyfriend Park Yoon Jae remain unchanged, her handsome new appearance draws unintended attention from everyone around her.
The newly released stills capture Yoo Jung Hoo’s first scene as Kim Ji Hoon, depicting Kim Ji Eun’s shocking first morning as a man. After falling asleep in a bunny headband and face mask, Ji Eun wakes up to find her pajama pants now comically short on her male frame, with the frilly pajamas clinging tightly to newly built muscles. Staring at her reflection in disbelief, Ji Eun—now Ji Hoon—lets out a roar of shock. Despite the chaos, Kim Ji Hoon’s striking visuals still shine through, leaving viewers eager to see how this unexpected flower-boy transformation will unfold.
Yoo Jung Hoo shared, “I had so much fun reading the script and filming this drama that I was eagerly waiting for it to air. I’m so happy that this really fun drama is finally being released.” Regarding his role, he added, “I hope viewers can relate to Ji Hoon’s confusion as someone who wakes up as a man overnight while still having Ji Eun’s heart. Watching how Ji Hoon gradually adapts to his new appearance will be fun as well.”
He confidently concluded, “Everyone is around the same age, and we filmed this with so much joy and energy, so I’m sure viewers will enjoy it too. Please tune in every Wednesday and Thursday starting July 23!”
