It was belatedly revealed that the writer of SBS’s Wednesday drama “Spring of Youth” is Kim Soon Ok!
On July 3, a source from SBS stated, “‘Spring of Youth’ is a project written by Kim Soon Ok, and the name Kim Min Chul listed in the credits is her pen name.”
Until now, production information for “Spring of Youth” on portal sites and other sources had listed the writer as “Kim Min Chul.” However, it has now come to light that the drama was actually written by Kim Soon Ok, the writer behind major hits such as “Jang Bori is Here,” “The Penthouse,” and “The Escape of the Seven.”
“Spring of Youth,” which concluded on July 2, tells the story of Sa Gye (Ha Yoo Joon), a member of K-pop’s most famous band, who is suddenly ousted from his group. As he enrolls and adjusts to college life for the first time, he falls for Kim Bom (Park Ji Hu) and rediscovers his passion for music by joining a campus band. N.Flying’s Lee Seung Hyub stars as Sa Gye’s romantic rival Seo Tae Yang.
The project is notably different in tone from the suspense and thriller genre dramas that Kim Soon Ok is typically known for, drawing attention.
