In April 2025, JUST B‘s Bain surprised netizens after he came out during one of the group’s concerts.
During the Los Angeles date of their American tour, Bain revealed to the audience that he was a proud member of the LGBT+ community, officially coming out as a gay man. In the time after, the idol was featured in numerous ways, as he was the first male idol to come out while actively promoting.

While he has seen a massive show of support online, many have wondered what the group members might have felt about the situation.
In previous interviews, Bain shared that the members and the company found out two years ago.

The members were asked as a whole if they felt a weight lifted after Bain’s coming out, with Geonu calling it a “Day Of Courage,” instead. The other members also shared similarly supportive thoughts, including DY who expressed a bit of nervousness.
Bain shared that the members treated him as they always do that night, a silent show of support.
Geonu: I would like to say it was a “Day of Courage.” It was a day of breaking the new dawn for him and also for our team — it was such a day of legends.
Lim Jimin: I was actually taking a video of Bain backstage and I’ve seen his shows and stages, but “This is the moment,” [I thought]. I was speechless, you know?
DY: To be honest, I didn’t feel particularly surprised. We’ve always known what kind of person Bain is on the inside, but watching him come out on stage did make me think, “How can we turn all those cheers into even greater support for JUSTB’s performance and music?” It made me reflect and I actually felt a bit of nervousness as a result, too.
The members were also asked if they had any LGBTQIA+ family members or if anyone else had come out to them. Each had slightly different answers, but they insisted that they did not have to understand in order to support and accept him.
Geonu: I actually have an LGBTQ friend, but regardless of that, I just wanted to understand and try to understand as a person. I think that’s what the world needs right now.
Lim Jimin: JUSTB is like my family. I do not have to understand him entirely; I just accept him as he is. During the performance, right after he sang on the stage, I started crying.
Geonu: I think that’s the best answer; he’s got the better answer! [Laughs] Because it’s not even about understanding, it is just accepting.
DY: Bain is actually the first person in my life, but honestly, I’ve always admired his beautiful voice regardless of his sexual identity, so it never really mattered to me.
While not everyone is accepting of queer individuals, JUST B’s thoughts and feelings are a refreshing sign of change.
