Disney+’s upcoming series “Low Life” has unveiled its main poster and teaser!
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Low Life” is a crime drama set in 1977 that follows a group of down-on-their-luck country folks as they chase after a sunken treasure ship beneath the sea.
The newly released main poster captures the powerful visuals of the cast, who have gathered by the sea of Sinan, drawn by the scent of unimaginable wealth. Their varied gazes, each fixed in a different direction, combined with the tagline “Deceive, Steal, Survive,” hint at the unpredictable twists ahead and spark curiosity about their tangled pasts and ever-shifting relationships.
The accompanying main trailer depicts the fierce full-scale war among those vying for the sunken treasure. It begins with Oh Gwan Seok (Ryu Seung Ryong) arriving in Sinan in search of the treasure and Boss Song (Kim Jong Soo), who holds critical information about the artifacts, marking the start of a massive treasure hunt among these desperate country folks.
As the drama unfolds, characters like Yang Jung Sook (Im Soo Jung) and Professor Kim (Kim Eui Sung) become increasingly entangled, their desires pulling them deeper into the chaos of Sinan. Meanwhile, Mokpo police officer Hong Gi (Lee Dong Hwi) enters the scene, adding an unpredictable and powerful force to this escalating conflict.
The tension rises further when Im Jeon Chul (Kim Sung Oh) warns Oh Hee Dong (Yang Se Jong), who has come with Oh Gwan Seok to dig up the treasure, “I don’t trust anyone on board,” highlighting the conflicts and mind games that will unfold among allies who cannot fully trust each other. The breathtaking sight of the vast sunken ship revealed before Hee Dong as he dives underwater teases an all-out war of desire, betrayal, and survival among those desperate for sudden riches.
Director Kang Yoon Sung commented, “‘Low Life’ is fun to watch as you follow each character. New characters appear with each episode, and depending on their movements and alliances, the plot changes significantly.” He added, “We aimed to capture the 1970s as realistically as possible, and I feel proud that we accomplished this through the series.”
The 11-episode run of “Low Life” begins July 16 with three episodes, followed by two episodes each on July 23, July 30, August 6, and August 13.
