Since its premiere, the action-comedy drama “Good Boy” has been getting a lot of buzz. The story follows Yoon Dong Ju (Park Bo Gum), a former Olympic boxing gold medalist who joins the police after his sports career ends. His strength, speed, and strong sense of justice help him start a new life as a detective. He teams up with other former athletes who also join the force. Ji Han Na (Kim So Hyun), once a top Olympic shooter, is now a smart and sharp police sergeant. Kim Jong Hyeon (Lee Sang Yi), a fencing silver medalist, works hard to become a good officer while dealing with his past. Ko Man Sik (Heo Sung Tae), a former wrestler, is the tough but warm team leader who often bickers with Dong Ju. And Shin Jae Hong (Tae Won Seok), a former discus thrower, brings calm and balance to the group. Together, they use their unique skills and teamwork to solve crimes and fight corruption. Meanwhile, Min Ju Yeong (Oh Jung Se), who appears to be a nice civil servant, secretly has dangerous goals and becomes the team’s biggest threat.

If you enjoy K-dramas with exciting cases, great characters, and strong team chemistry, here are five other police procedurals you won’t want to miss.

    “Rookie Cops”

This is a coming-of-age police drama that follows a group of freshmen at the Korean National Police University (KNPU) as they work hard to become police officers. The story mainly focuses on Wi Seung Hyun (Kang Daniel), a smart and passionate student who wants to follow in the footsteps of his father, a respected police commissioner. His journey takes a turn when he meets Go Eun Gang (Chae Soo Bin), a lively and determined classmate. Eun Gang originally joined the university because of a crush, but quickly realizes that the life of a police trainee is much more difficult than she expected.

Along with Seung Hyun and Eun Gang, several other recruits join the program. Kim Tak (Lee Shin Young) is a former judo athlete who prefers to be alone but ends up forming a strong friendship with Seung Hyun. Ki Han Na (Park Yoo Na) is highly competitive and independent, often clashing with others due to her strong drive to succeed. Woo Ju Young (Min Do Hee), a science high school graduate, dreams of becoming a forensic investigator. Seo Bum Ju (Kim Woo Seok) is careful and a bit nervous but surprises his classmates with his unexpected dance skills. And Shin A Ri (Cheon Young Min), known for her beauty and love of fashion, slowly opens up and becomes more connected to the group.

As they go through intense physical training and academic tests, the students begin to bond. They face real-life challenges, form meaningful friendships, and even experience love. Throughout their journey, they learn the true meaning of justice, teamwork, and courage. The series is a heartwarming mix of action, romance, and growth, showing how these young recruits grow stronger together while working to protect others.

    “Taxi Driver”

Can't Get Enough Of Park Bo Gum's Good Boy? 5 Police Procedural K-Dramas That Are Just As Addictive And Should Be On Your Watch List

With Season 3 on the way, the first two seasons of “Taxi Driver” have already won fans with their gripping mix of action, crime, and justice. The story follows the Rainbow Taxi Company, a normal-looking taxi service that secretly runs a special “revenge-call” operation. Their mission? To help victims, who were failed by the legal system, get the justice they deserve. At the center is Kim Do Gi (Lee Je Hoon), a former special forces soldier whose mother was murdered by a serial killer. After realizing the justice system wouldn’t help him, he joins Rainbow Taxi and becomes their top driver, taking on dangerous missions to help others in similar situations. The team is led by Jang Sung Cheol (Kim Eui Sung), the CEO of the company and head of a nonprofit that supports crime victims. He carefully picks the cases they take on. Do Gi is supported by Ahn Go Eun (Pyo Ye Jin), a talented hacker, and two skilled mechanics; Choi Kyung Goo (Jang Hyuk Jin) and Park Jin Uhn (Bae Yoo Ram), who build gadgets and prep the team’s high-tech taxi for undercover missions.

Each story arc focuses on a new victim and a case inspired by real-life crimes in Korea, such as school bullying, workplace abuse, digital sex crimes, and scam operations. The team goes undercover, gathers evidence, and uses clever, sometimes harsh tactics to punish the wrongdoers. In Season 1, they’re pursued by Kang Ha Na (Esom), a principled prosecutor who is determined to stop them because she believes justice should only come through legal channels. The series delves into profound questions about revenge, justice, and morality. With powerful stories, emotional depth, and high-stakes action, it’s a must-watch for fans of crime dramas.

Can't Get Enough Of Park Bo Gum's Good Boy? 5 Police Procedural K-Dramas That Are Just As Addictive And Should Be On Your Watch List

This is an action-comedy K-drama about Jin Yi Soo (Ahn Bo Hyun), a rich and spoiled chaebol heir who likes to act like a detective. He lives a flashy life and uses his money and high-society connections to solve crimes in strange but clever ways. After accidentally helping solve a few cases, Yi Soo is unexpectedly made a real detective in the Violent Crimes Unit at Gangha Police Station. There, he’s partnered with Lee Kang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun), a tough and serious detective who always follows the rules. At first, she finds Yi Soo annoying and doesn’t trust his rich-boy attitude or strange methods. While Kang Hyun sticks to proper police work, Yi Soo uses expensive gadgets, parties, and even bribes to get clues. Still, their teamwork starts to improve, and they begin solving difficult cases together. As the story goes on, Yi Soo starts to grow up and take his job more seriously. He wants to use his money and skills to do something meaningful.

The drama blends crime-solving and comedy with deeper moments, including secrets about Yi Soo’s family and the mystery of his mother’s death. The show was well-received and has been renewed for Season 2.

    “The Good Detective”

Can't Get Enough Of Park Bo Gum's Good Boy? 5 Police Procedural K-Dramas That Are Just As Addictive And Should Be On Your Watch List

Kang Do Chang (Son Hyun Joo) is an experienced detective who has worked in Incheon for 18 years. He doesn’t use high-tech tools—he just trusts his instincts, street knowledge, and connections. His new partner, Oh Ji Hyuk (Jang Seung Jo), is calm and smart, with a background in profiling. He believes in solving cases through facts and evidence, but he keeps to himself because of a painful past. In Season 1, they work together on a murder case that happened five years ago. A man named Lee Dae Chul was sentenced to death, but just before his execution, new clues suggest he may be innocent. Do Chang, who arrested him, must decide whether to protect his job or do the right thing. As they investigate, the two detectives uncover a cover-up that involves police, prosecutors, and powerful people. They’re joined by Jin Seo Kyung (Lee Elijah), a strong-willed reporter who’s determined to reveal the truth. Season 2 brings new cases but continues to show how hard it is to be a good cop in a system full of lies and corruption.

The show highlights real challenges honest officers face and how teamwork, trust, and persistence can uncover the truth. Season 1 aired in 2020, while Season 2 followed in 2022.

    “Seoul Busters”

Can't Get Enough Of Park Bo Gum's Good Boy? 5 Police Procedural K-Dramas That Are Just As Addictive And Should Be On Your Watch List

This is a fun and lighthearted crime comedy about a group of struggling detectives from Songwon Police Station’s Violent Crimes Unit 2. Known as the worst team in the country, they’re moved to a strange new office—a closed-down daycare center—because of their poor results. Everything changes when Dongbang Yoo Bin (Kim Dong Wook), a smart, athletic, and handsome top detective, suddenly joins as their new leader. He once had the chance to be a professor abroad, but for some reason, he chooses to lead this underperforming team. Yu Bin is determined to turn the team around. The squad includes Moo Joong Ryeok (Park Ji Hwan), a tough and outspoken veteran who used to be a boxer; Jung Jung Hwan (Seo Hyun Woo), a quiet and thoughtful detective who brings balance; Seo Min Seo (Park Se Wan), the only female officer, who’s clever, laid-back, and strong; and Jang Tan Sik (Lee Seung Woo), the youngest member who is full of energy and potential.

Even though they’re a bit clumsy and untraditional, the team slowly starts solving real cases in their own creative ways. The show combines crime-solving with lots of comedy, heartwarming teamwork, and stories about growth and second chances. It’s a feel-good drama about unlikely heroes learning to work together.
