4 Coolest Moments From Episodes 5-6 Of “Law And The City”

The weekend has gotten better than ever since “Law and The City” is here! Each episode gets more interesting with its amazing characters, compelling stories, and a visual feast that it is hard to tell what to love the most. Although the last preview showed some hints of drama, it is far from the over-the-top sort of melodrama that some legal shows are accustomed to have. On the contrary, they portrayed heavy topics in a way that was still entertaining and endearing to the audience, without leaving aside the main point. Here are the best and coolest moments of this week’s episodes!

Warning: spoilers from episodes 5-6 ahead!

    1. Ahn Ju Hyeong slowly shifting his cold personality

If there’s one cool thing in romance, it is when you’re watching a cold, detached character slowly put down their barriers for that one special person. This is exactly what is happening with Ahn Ju Hyeong (Lee Jong Suk). As we saw last week, seeing his ex-girlfriend in a more than uncomfortable situation was something that truly shocked him. However, it is his everyday interaction with Kang Hui Ji (Mun Ka Young) that is making him open up little by little, changing his overall demeanor. Even when she tells him she meddled between him and his ex, he doesn’t seem to mind one bit. It looks like he is ready to let go of that part of his past, and it is a blessing that the writers completely skipped plot about the annoying ex returning to interfere between the leads.

Nonetheless, since we are in the middle of the show, it would be too good to be true to see them together already. After all, there’s so much to find out about them still. But that isn’t an obstacle in enjoying a good amount of romantic tension between the leads. Lee Jong Suk is probably one of the few actors who can portray a fit of jealousy without looking cringy. He also puts the perfect amount of cuteness and maturity into the equation, showing more of Ahn Ju Hyeong’s true personality when he can’t help but feel envious of his friend being too close to Hui Ji. This also makes one thing clear, whatever interest he has over her, it is far stronger and deeper than he is willing to admit.

    2. Kang Hui Ji and Ahn Ju Hyeong working together on a case

If watching Ju Hyeong and Hui Ji on full attorney mode is awesome, then watching them work together in a case is something out of this world. Although it is clear they have different approaches at work when Kim Hyung Min (Yeom Hye Ran) assigns them a particular case of unfair dismissal, they seem to put their differences aside and end up complementing each other rather well. They not only trust each other’s judgment but also respect each other’s experience and abilities, which speaks a lot about their dynamics. To say they seem almost undefeatable would be an understatement. But they aren’t all high and mighty.

When they go to a club to secure evidence for their case, they can’t persuade their witness and end up in a tricky situation where they have to come up with a silly excuse to get out unscathed. Seeing Lee Jong Suk and Mun Ka Young clubbing in an awkward yet cool way was something we probably didn’t know we needed until now. Although they have some complications in the process, they naturally win their case. As expected, Hui Ji talks her way into the heart of her witness, acquiring a vital proof for them. And that’s probably the most fictional thing to happen so far in the drama, because in real life, justice doesn’t always prevail.

    3. The squad supporting each other through hard times

Speaking of which, in this week’s episodes life starts to get a little too real for the rest of the squad. While Ban Mun Jeong (Ryu Hye Young) has to face the unexpected news of her pregnancy, Ha Sang Gi (Im Seong Jae) has to deal with a false accusation of nepotism. This makes Cho Chang Won (Kang You Seok), who was already feeling weary of his life, question everyone and everything around him. Seeing the squad lose their fighting spirit and silently moping around even when they keep on sharing their daily meals showcases how fragile trust is even among close friends and colleagues.

Fortunately, they overcome this small slump and end up sharing everything with each other. Sang Gi is able to open up about his poor background and how much he struggled to succeed, showing how pure-hearted he is. Mun Jeong also reveals her pregnancy to her friends and husband, Kim Ji Seok (Yoon Kyun Sang), who happily welcomes the idea of becoming parents. Although Chang Won can’t change a lot for him, having his friends by his side already makes everything better in some way. Watching them finally going back to their chaotic, simple, and comfortable state after so much is probably one of the most heart-warming moments in the show so far.

    4. Ahn Ju Hyeong and Kang Hui Ji rekindling their feelings

Once everything is settled in Hyungmin law group, there’s room for the romance to reignite between Ju Hyeong and Hui Ji. Surprisingly, their story goes beyond a simple random encounter back in Hong Kong 10 years ago. What could have been a brief meeting for some appears to be a once in a lifetime happening to them, something that could be defined only as destiny. From sharing their dreams for the future, to simply spending their time together under the dim night light, their brief romance is the exact definition of an unforgettable first love.

Even if their circumstances led them to be apart for a long time, it looks like being colleagues will give them the chance to reconnect in a more serious way. And solely based on the chemistry and tension they’ve shown so far, their relationship might be able to break the whole internet. But will they be ready to take that step and jump into a new romance, considering both their mutual past and current positions within their firm? That is something for us to discover in the upcoming episodes of “Law and The City”!
